How They Bring Back the Village of Tumbleweed When the Wind Blows It Away

Welcome to Tales from the Story Catchers, where the boundaries of imagination stretch as far as the horizon and beyond. Today, we bring you a charming new tale spun from the whimsical world of Joules Young and Willow Wind Mouse. In the rugged, untamed wilderness of Oregon, where the old wagon trails twist like forgotten memories across wide-open plains, comes Featherfoot, a sixteen-year-old girl with eyes as blue as the summer sky. Her visit to her younger cousins on a rough settlement homestead, way out yonder, brings tales of floating villages and freckles that hold the memory of home—a visit that will be etched in their minds like the trails they walk upon. So, dear listeners, find a cosy spot, let your minds wander free, and allow this tale to wrap around you like a cherished old quilt. As we step into this world of make-believe, remember to look, listen, linger, laugh, and love. Now, let the adventure begin.

Puddington-on-the-Puff

Welcome to Tales from the Story Catcher, by the ever-wondrous Joules   Young, a dreamer who, one suspects, has spoonful’s of moonbeams and more than a few stray stars lodged behind her ears.

It’s here, dear listener, that we embark on a journey through stories brimming with whimsy, wonder, and a dash—perhaps a large, generous ladleful—of delightful nonsense. And why not?

Our tale today brings you the slightly tatty but much-adored Miss Threadbare McScruff. She’s the sort of doll who’s seen better days—her stuffing may be a bit lumpy, and her once-button eyes have been replaced with something rather unusual, but she is still loved. Then there’s Sir Stouttwig the Broomstick, standing proudly by her side. Upright? Oh yes. Dependable? Most certainly. After all, he is a broomstick.

And what’s this? A wedding day, you say? But of course! No tale worth its sugar, or indeed its chocolate, would be complete without a wedding day. And here we have all the usual suspects: spoon lickers (naturally), pan bangers (because who wouldn’t want a bit of noise?), and an excess of chocolate that will likely end in a glorious, sticky mess.

So, I suggest you settle in—properly, now. None of this half-hearted lounging. Find yourself the squishiest chair in the house, the one that threatens to swallow you whole if you’re not careful, and do make sure the kettle’s on. You’ll want tea, maybe even a biscuit or three, as Puddington-on-the-Puff awaits, with all its wobbles, wonders, and wildly improbable goings-on. Ready? Off we go then and remember to Look, Listen, Linger, Laugh, and Love!"

Today, dear listeners, we tumble into the curious goings-on of Pebblewhisk Ridge, a village where the sheep do the counting and the Thursday skies have a curious habit of raining custard. Our heroine, the cheeky but somewhat scatterbrained Lottie Tweaks, finds herself in a rather… sticky situation.

Enter Mr Tweaks, Lottie’s father, a man with a flair for inventing things and Mrs Tweaks, Together, they enlist the help of the Professor Cloudwhiff and a goblin who lives behind the Wiggly Woods and has opinions about biscuits.

Will Lottie ever pry her thumb from her nose? Can Mr Tweaks survive the onslaught of crows, rats, and slightly sinister cats that seem far too invested in his trousers? And will Mrs Goblin finally get her tea and shortbread in peace? Find yourself a cosy corner, hold on to your hats (lest the wind carry them off), and prepare to step into a world where anything can happen, and probably will.

So, Look, Listen, Linger, Laugh, and Love."

Welcome to Tales from the Story Catcher, spun with boundless whimsy by the ever-curious and daring Joules Young.
